Proposals by the Team Council are made following research, discussion, and agreement among council members.
The purpose of the Bear Creek Community Charter School Team Council shall be:
The Team Council consists of two students from each of the eight Middle School Teams. Council representatives are elected by a democratic vote by all members of the Team. Election procedures are established by the Team at the beginning of the school year, and there are no more than two elections annually to ensure continuity of the council leadership. Students can serve multiple terms if so desired, but council membership is subject to approval of the School's Academic Support Team. A President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer are be elected by the council members.
The overall function of the Team Council is to give the student body a voice in the operation of Bear Creek Community Charter School. Council members meet on a bi-weekly basis during lunch/recess to discuss issues and make recommendations. The Student Council advisor is present for each meeting, and provides guidance and assistance during the discussions. Teachers are invited and encouraged to attend all meetings. Council members may be asked to conduct research and interview staff members on proposals that are under discussion and should understand in advance that council membership will require extra effort on their part. Students at academic risk are not recommended for council membership.

Team Advisors assist Team Council members as they strive to communicate issues and involve their teams in the democratic process.
